It’s always such a treat when one of your newsletters arrives, so I couldn’t quite believe it when I scrolled down and saw my own book cover - thank you SO much for this gorgeous review - I’m delighted it was a part of your pre book tour break. And I so agree on the Cecilia Rabess - I loved it, and the ending had a similar effect on me. With so many thanks, Florence x
I’m so pleased to find someone who has read Everything’s Fine. I tried to get my friends to read it (I want to talk to someone about the ending!) to no avail. I finished it 18 months ago and still think about the couple of what would have happened. Such a fabulous recommendation!
Loved Everything’s Fine. It was such a shame it was review bombed before it even hit pub day. I’m not sure marketing it as a romance helped, given the ending. But the writing itself is so sharp and observant — can’t wait to see what she writes next
I just picked up Everything’s Fine based on your recommendation! I couldn’t get through All Fours, but perhaps that says more about me than it does the author.
Nope not read or watched any, however, Everything's Fine seems.to have an interesting thread around how possible is it for another to understand your life unless lived a similar one. Basically = Lived Experience v How Can You Understand. Might have to seek that one out
Always so happy to see your newsletter appear in in my Inbox. I really liked Everything's Fine, but meno-brain means I've forgotten the ending (?!) so I need to go revisit that.
I've heard so much about All Fours, but it really sounds like something I would hate so I might just put that on the back burner for the time being.
Babygirl and The Names going straight on my TBW/TBR lists.
I just finished reading Kala by Irish writer Colin Walsh. It's a debut thriller/coming of age novel, can highly recommend. Looking forward to his next one already.
LOVE the idea of going totally rested into a book tour!! Hope you have a fab time. I have read WE ALL LIVE HERE as my publisher sent me an ARC and I LOVED it so much. All the characters were quirky and wonderful and the story so relatable. Thank you! x
Had to come back to say I sailed through “Everything’s Fine” in a day. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. I love it when that happens. The ending wasn’t what I was expecting. I read it three times. On the third read, I decided it was genius.
A great round up, thank you. I loved 'All Fours', it was such a wild and different read. I've just pre-ordered 'The Names' and hope it's a great sucess for Florence.
I hope too you feel rested and the book tour goes well.

All Fours made me feel like I was in a fever dream: I almost didn't know what to think! But The Names is a truly brilliant debut.

Was it? Why?
This piece does a good job of explaining: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/26/books/goodreads-review-bombing.html

Great to find you here! I think I’ve been influenced by your writing style; in ‘ME BEFORE YOU’ particularly ( so I’m told) and I’ve also been
spurred on by Kate Atkinson

My daughter raved about Babygirl, but I wasn't sure I'd like it. Now, I'll definitely add it to my watch list!
