I watched 3 episodes of season 1 of Industry, liked the writing and the characters but found the drug-taking and passionless sex offputting so I bailed. Season 3 sounds like a different kettle of fish, I'm in!
Agree about here one moment. I’m almost done. I love the change in third person to first person perspectives. Rufi Thorpe did this in Margot’s got money trouble too. I don’t know if this is a recent trend or just two books for me back to back are doing this but I like it.
Well there’s another vision blown out of the water. It has never occurred to me that signatures are tipped in. In my imagination an author hunches over a desk , surrounded by piles of books, sighing as yet another pile is dumped in front of them by a perspiring assistant.
And why on earth anyone would be required to wear false eyelashes in order to discuss their work (unless of course you WANT to) is another mystery. Or perhaps male authors also wear them and I simply haven’t noticed…
Sometimes we do do the whole book - we go to the printers and sit in an office where someone does just that. But especially when you are signing foreign editions it’s logistically easier to sign individual pages. And the eyelashes were for a photoshoot and offered by a make up artist I know well. But I would t be surprised if the odd man uses them!
I’ve only ever had to sign when some kindly soul has massaged my ego by presenting me with a book and a pen and blushing requested my autograph 😉 so thank you for the enlightenment.
>...asking if I could confirm that they “had my signature the right way up”.
😀
I loved Here One Moment, I can't stop thinking about it!

Liane Moriarty’s Here One Moment sounds great. Haven't read her before. Thanks! 🙏🏻 ( Sounds like a fun one to read on a plane 😂)
And love the coat on you!
