Great list, thank you. Especially excited for that Jodi Picoult. And The Bear - yes, that episode in particular was astounding. But this series I felt was the best so far (unlike almost everyone else, apparently), precisely because of the skill with which it depicted the minutiae of every day life and struggles. I really liked the Tina episode too, but also the continuing insight into how damaged Carmy is.
Hi! Thanks for pointing out that there’s a new Emily Giffin, I enjoy her books and I’m happy to hear she’s a lovely person. I look forward to adding it to my pile. And yes to commercial fiction and beach reads and down with snootiness! And I love your books too🙏💕
I loved How to kill your Family so I’ll definitely be getting the next one. Agree about the summer reading containing no commercial romance. Oh how I’d love an 80’s bonk buster again!
I love that you took the time to shout out these books, even though you didn't get around to blurbing them! It speaks to your genuine kindness.
I'm excited to see Jodi's new book is out soon. She mentioned it to me last year (or was it 1 1/2 years ago?!) when she blurbed my most recent novel (which was inspired by Romeo & Juliet, hence her Shakespeare novel came up).
I'm also adding these others to my TBR (and I've heard so much about The Bear and haven't watched it yet... Will have to give it a try!)

Yes the Tina episode was so good.

A great selection and more convincing than a blurb. Can't wait to see the rest of The Bear 3. Welcome!

I also love Jodi Picoult. Twenty nine books? And all of them bloody brilliant. Can't wait to read her new one.
I’ve just read Naked Portrait too and realised how very dull my own childhood and adolescence was! 😉
